Answers to your frequently asked questions

Q: How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?

A: You must be 18, with proper identification, to get tattooed in Wisconsin

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: What forms of payment do you take?

A: I accept cash, credit and debit (Visa & MasterCard,).  I do not accept checks.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: Do you take walk-in's?

A: I do take walk-in’s if my schedule allows. Appointments come first so it’s always best to call ahead and schedule an appointment.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: How do I schedule an appointment?

A: Stop by, call the shop, or email me at sandhilltattoo@yahoo.com to discuss your tattoo idea and get the ball rolling.  A consultation appointment might be needed. To make an appointment, I require a $100 deposit. Some large, or time intensive tattoos will require a larger deposit.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: What is your deposit policy?

A: Your deposit holds your appointment time open and acts as collateral for the time reserved for you.  The deposit is not a fee, it is applied to the final price of your tattoo. Deposits are non-refundable.  A deposit may be transferred to another date if I am given at least 48 hours notice.  You will lose the deposit if you fail to show up to your appointment, fail to reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment, show up to your appointment without proper identification, arrive significantly late to your appointment, decide you want an entirely different tattoo than what was agreed upon, decide not to get tattooed at all, or fail to inform your artist about certain skin and health conditions that would interfere with your tattoo and healing.  Deposits cannot be transferred to another person.

Q: What health or medical conditions should I be aware of before scheduling an appointment?

A: Your health, and my own is of the utmost importance to me.  If you have any concerns, please discuss them with me, or a doctor before scheduling an appointment.  This includes conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, hepatitis, hemophilia, HIV-AIDS or any other communicable disease, heart condition, or if you are taking medicine which thins the blood. Further, any skin conditions (such as, but not limited to: acne, scarring (keloid), eczema, psoriasis, moles, or sunburn) that may interfere with your tattoo.  These conditions do not mean you cannot get tattooed, but you will want to consult with a doctor and, myself about the application, care, and healing of your tattoo.

Q: Do you have gift certificates?

A: Yes, I sell gift certificates year round, available in any amount.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: What do I wear for my appointment?

A: Wear what is comfortable for you, and what allows the area you are getting tattooed to be accessible.  We have privacy screens available for use during your tattoo.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: Do you do cover-ups?

A: Yes, I do!  Set up a consultation appointment with me.  Come in with a broad range of ideas on what you'd ultimately like to cover your tattoo with, but keep in mind that I’ll need some degree of artistic freedom to successfully cover your old tattoo.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: How do I care for my tattoo?

A: Check out the aftercare instructions here, and consult me or a physician with any questions or concerns.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Q: How much will my tattoo cost?

A: My minimum charge is $100.  Your tattoo is a permanent piece of art, and you will get what you pay for. Pricing will depend on details, size, location, and time.  It is difficult to give an estimate without having the tattoo drawn, sized, etc.

Q: Is this establishment licensed?  Is everything sterile?

A: This establishment and all artists at this establishment are licensed by the Department of Health for the State of Wisconsin.

I also maintain annual bloodborne pathogen education and certification.

Your safety and the life of your tattoo are of the utmost importance to me.  This is dependent on our shop being safe and clean. This establishment uses needles that are sterile single-use, and are disposed of in proper sharps containers after your procedure. Any equipment that is not single use is covered with a disposable barrier, and or disinfected for every client.
